The problem with forum is that it will try to split the readers - one would either read the mails or read the forum - people dont have time for both.


many people prefer to use mails for various reasons - one of which is that it is more bandwidth friendly. You leave the mail client on and it keeps downloading the mails. You come back later and read it off your hard disk!

See, there is no problem of trying it out. Get raj to hand over something like forums.linux-delhi.org and install phpbb on it and see. There is no harm in trying to get a bigger audience.

BTW, if access to the list archive is what is bothering you, take a look at the gmane archives of the list - one of the best interfaces of list mail archives.
