Hey ,
I have been using Mandrake 9.2 and just about to install the 10.0 release on a centrino notebook. Well the stuff works but barely. You should visit www.tuxmobil.org and www.linux-laptop.net .
The graphics card works pretty straight forward but depending on the notebook mfr you may have issues. I have a Dell and they are not known for their BIOS , basically tweaking required to give the graphics card more RAM. I am still trying to get the dual head display working though :( .
Same goes for the ACPI . But your mfr might have done a better job. The 2.6 kernel has pretty good ACPI support even.
The wireless is a no go and you have to either buy a wrapper from linuxant or get the ndiswrapper which will let you use the windows drivers. Works quite well according to some reports i have read, never tried it though.
The rest is pretty much notebook model dependant.

Hi!
I'm experimenting with a laptop with a centrino chipset, and was wondering if anyone's configured the chipset with any distro? Plus, would using kernel 2.6, make a difference if compared to 2.4?
TIA, vik
