Sorry folks, This was a unnecessary troll. Please avoid bringing in useless discussion on GNU/Linux vs Linux in any form on this list. Call it whatever you want and respect other's right to call it whatever they want.
I think jareeN in no way asked you to call it GNU/Linux it was just you who could not keep your dumb fingers from punching that keyboard and draw your own conclusions.
Yes! It is really a meaningless debate. I would just call my system GNU/Linux. why would I call it something else? That was what it was always called. That was what It was called when I bought Slink, that was what it was called when I got potato and its still called that with woody. I don't know why there is a debate on this issue.
Yet another list member who calls it LinuxYou poor Dumbwit.
By the way,
I believe that what RMS really wants is to get that issue into the public light. One way to do that is to get the term GNU/Linux out into the media. People will inevitably ask what GNU is? and that leads to FSF, copyleft, and discussions free software as a philosophical matter.
We need to get GNU and the free software philosophy into the public eye.
That's a worthwhile objective. I'm sure there are better ways to accomplish it, though, then by starting a massive public flamewar that can only damage both GNU and Linux in the public eye...
-- It is practically impossible to teach good programming style to students that have had prior exposure to BASIC: as potential programmers they are mentally mutilated beyond hope of regeneration.
