Can you SSH to that system from inside to the any publicly available SSHBOX (Free servers are available)? If yes, you can SSH forwarding will help you in that case.. You can set up a system when you SSH to public system, at port <other than 22> then you can reach the local IP of you system. For details refer SSH Manual

One he is un-willing and more over un-able (knowledge base), two there can be more than one box on his internal LAN belonging to different people and all may want him to port forward to their box.
