here are the minutes.
We started with few people turning out on time.
finally discussion started at 6 pm
LL started with explaining how fearful newbies are in
switching to linux. ASo he declared he will speak on
"why you would and should keep on using windows"
The discussion moved to which venue. It was observed
that we expect an audience of around 99-100 people, so
sarai could fit in as a venue. This will save our
expenses for the venue. We only need to gather money
for food. Mary said he will confirm the availability
of venue by monday evening. An alternate venue being
discussed is CSE, as they have ouple of auditorium
with them.
We had discusion on remaining speakers and there
topic.
It was decided to finalize the ads before weekend as
most of the magzines will close their issues for next
month by this week.
Viksit reaised a point of calling the event something
which would make newbies curious onwhat this is going
to be. He recommended not to use word india or even
linux while naming event. Two names were decided upon,
i don't remeber which one was finalized. The name were
"Chak de Linux" and "Linux Kabila". Someone please
update on this or we can have a quick poll ofr this.
It was decided to conduct installation fest parellel
to talks. In installation fest people bring in their
PC along with monitor and we guide them on how to
install linux. W eguide 10-20 people simltaneous for
one hour, after which half and hour break and ccycle
continues.
Some discussion on deliverable also happened and mary
wrote it down. I don't have them with me so i request
him to post them on list.
After this some went to have a dinner.
