I am trying to send a email where the userid has a eight bit character
in it. I assume it is in ISO-8859-1 but in future it could be in UTF-8
too.

According to http://www.faqs.org/rfcs/rfc2047.html I can work around
the email address at the MUA level using Q encoding or a B encoding.
But is it something which the transport layer and more specifically
sendmail can be made to handle ?

One example email address is [EMAIL PROTECTED]
