For new users you can use mandrake, my opinion is windows users are most comfortable with mandrake compared to other linux distros. Debian is also a good option for office work, you can use debian unstable for desktop, and it works fantastically. Just use knoppix cd and install it to harddisk by using knx2hd. Then install/uninstall packages as you require. > > 2. should i go for 'linux for each user' > (standalone) > or deploying LTSP is ok (will save lot of > maintainence > etc.). If you plan to use LTSP and oracle together, be carefull. You should calculate the bandwidth, memory and CPU requirements before you switch to LTSP. As for mainatance aspect of LTSP, i dont think LTSP requires less maintanence and comes with its own share of problems; What if different users want to use diffrent softwares at the same time ??
