Hi All, I did some searching on the net in this regard and came to the following conclusion
(1) Currently there is no support for AC'97 Modems on Linux. This means we are stuck with a dead piece of hardware (2) OSS driver for this modem is under development. However it is in a Pre-Alpha stage. That means we all need to carry forward this work to get our modems working. Check out http://www.compuvative.com/ac97-modem/ for the same. Meanwhile fo net we will have to do with a Dual Booting WinXP pre loaded with the Laptop.
