AFAIK "aacrarid" driver should do the job. It's available in the kernels so you don't need to do an extra patch. Just load the module. i386 -- Generic for all Intel architecture. i586 -- Pentium II/Pro i686 -- Pentium III and above It's better to use specific support for much newer kernel like Pentium Mobile because they too term up as i686. Look into the kernel source config. They explain it better.
