boot from the 1st CD of linux installer..... and type linux rescue at
the prompt.

The existing linux OS on the HDD will be searched and mounted under
/mnt/sysimage

type chroot /mnt/sysimage at the prompt and then type grub-install
/dev/hda ...... and reboot the box..... the grub boot loader should
come up again....
