Hi,

I missed the earlier parts of this thread, but I'll chime in with an
opinion on this book:

If you have anything to do with programming commercially, or intend to
at some point, read this book. Then give it to your boss, ask him to
please read it and pass it on to his boss. 

People who manage programmers need to know how programmers do their
jobs, what they need and how their skills should be managed. This book
is not the only one that can do it, but it's certainly the most readable
and timeless.
