Ram,

Without the specifics of the situation, it may be
somewhat difficult to spell out what the rights of the
person who downloaded copyrighted material are, but I

Some takeaways from this article:
a)"...almost everything created privately and
originally after April 1, 1989 is copyrighted and
protected whether it has a notice or not.  "
b)You don't have rights over copyrighted material
unless those rights were "explicitly" granted to you.

Of course, since laws differ between countries, you
will have to check with a local expert on whether the
points specified in the article apply in your
locality/situation.
