Hi,

ILUGD and a Delhi-based University are planning to jointly organise a
Bioinformatics programming workshop. The workshop is planned for 6
weeks beginning in early June.

If you are a student with some programming skills, you are invited to
join the coding team at the workshop. You would be working closely
with the subject-matter (Bioinformatics) experts to develop FLOSS
applications in that field. At the end of the project you would
receive a certificate from the University and, if things work out, a
nominal stipend.

A prior knowledge of Bioinformatics is not required.

If you have extensive design, coding and/or training experience, you
can join the workshop mentorship team. The mentors would be expected
to spend at least 2 days a week for 6 weeks assisting the coding teams
with design and programming inputs. Initially those mentors who have
training experience would be expected to conduct basic programming
workshops in Perl, C, C++, Python and perhaps Java. Some payment
would be made for mentorship inputs.

We're meeting up tomorrow (Friday, May 5) at 7pm at my place to thrash
out the details. Please join in if you're interested.

Agenda: First-cut discussions on Bioinformatics Workshop
Date: Friday, May 5
Time: 19:00 (7pm)
Venue: BB/3G DDA Flats
                   Munirka
Contact: Gora (9868527992) or me (9811066460)

All are invited.

Regards,
