Never did feel like affording the card when phone + cable do the same job and also let you use phone all the time. Generally I have followed the following steps in determining pppconfig settings: Plug in the card and watch output of /var/log/messages With phone usually the conection shows up as /dev/ttyUSB??? or /dev/ttyACM??? or /dev/tty??? Next keeping your fingers crossed just do a dial out and see what happens. If you are lucky messages will show connection happening ELSE....hit and trial with lots of google help. I know I went a little beyond the question but that is how I have figured out connection using three models of LG Two models of Samsung and one model of Nokia till date.
