Hi,
We had another fruitful meet on 16/08/06 regarding the preparation
of FreeDel'06. A no. of volunteers have been assigned tasks to do (as
per the ILUG-D's "you have been volunteered" policy :-) ).
Here are the details of the meeting:
(1) Call for volunteers will be made by Raj soon.
(2) Andrew has contacted a few potential sponsors and commitment by
sponsors are expected at most by 23rd.
(3) There were discussions on GNU/Linux distributions to be sold
during the event. We zeroed in on following distros:
(A) Fedora Core 5 (DVD)
(B) Knoppix (CD)
(C) Debian GNU/Linux (DVD)
Gora has already ordered for Ubuntu CDs and we hope to get it at
least before the event :-).
(4) Andrew will be making a list of colleges for posters and letters
to be sent for participation.
(5) Letters to be sent to colleges and potential sponsors will be
drafted by Kishore and Gora.
(6) Poster design is to be created by Kishore by 17th and it will be
printed by Andrew ( in A3 size) by 21st.
(7) Call for talks has already been made and we have already received
a few proposals. We are expecting talks from participants of
Bio-informatics workshop.
(8) Charges for participation in the event is as follows:
(A) Rs 50/- for students (without meal).
(B) Rs 250/- for delegates (with meals for 2 days).
(9) freedel.in site will be updated by Saleem and Gaurav.
(10) Kishore has been volunteered to give a talk on "Career
opportunities in Free Software world".
