Thank you very much! But the same result at forum.nokia.com, they says that
nokia has no support for midlets to go from proxy after series 40 (since
2002) but yet has some unofficial ways to get it up. And as far as my
knowledge is concerned j2me has no support to hard code them as well, else a
wrapper could be used to attain this(like some midlet managers in
smart-phones like 02).
And as far as the 3 questions that were put up, i've verified that gmail
uses http(or atleast other applications such as Nimbuzz, that asks for the
connection method should work), and the proxy at vodafone allows outbound
http traffic through this proxy, but filters socket requests!

Anyways, sheer luck, maybe i should go for other mailing lists and groups!
