Greetings Rahul, Thanks for the wonderful offer! NSIT lately has started witnessing the power of open-source software and the importance of contributing to the community.
Students in our college are contributing to projects like Moblin, OLPC, and openMoko! 1. We can have an openSource day at NSIT where we can invite speakers to popularize Linux and encourage students to develop and contribute to the community. 2. Distribute CDs of Ubuntu, LFY magazines. 3. Invite students to become members of ILUGD. We have already hosted a successful talk by members of ILUGD in the past. We have a very active students branch of CSI at NSIT. The team is capable of handling all the logistical and event management requirements for such an event. Do you think such an event can be organized in the coming months? Aditya Vishwakarma the present chairman of CSI-NSIT would be able to steer the talks and discussions with you from this point onwards. Thanks!
