I am travelling in Bangalore right now, but will get all this material up on the Sarai site as soon as I can after returning to Delhi on the 20th. I am not sure that one can learn much from the slides themselves. If you are interested in Indian language publishing with TeX/LaTeX, please talk to people at Sarai (off-list, or on the indlinux-group mailing list). I can also put you in touch with the people that worked on the project. Besides this work, there is also XeTeX which allows Unicode in TeX/LaTeX documents. This needs some minor work to port it from MacOSX to Linux (mostly a matter of modifying ttf fonts to ones appropriate for TeX, specifying fonts, and testing). A link is at http://scripts.sil.org/cms/scripts/page.php?site_id=nrsi&id=xetex Please do let us know if you are interested in working on this.
