A client is running a few hundred Winduhs PCs in his office, with 3 Linux FC Samba servers. Facing tons of problems with viruses on the shares, so we're looking for a Samba+Anti-virus solution.
1. Investigated Samba-VScan and Scannedonly. Both are totally alpha, and both refuse to compile against the Samba 3.0.28a sources. Knocked out at the starting gate itself. 2. Need to investigate an IDS (Snort) running in conjunction with Samba. Has anyone tried (or heard of) this as a Samba anti-virus solution? 3. Any other possibility (apart from switching the desktops to Linux, which is currently not feasible)?
