Unicel (http://uniceltech.com) is what we've used. They've a tie-up with Airtel. They claim to have a capacity of sending 500 SMS at a time which no other provider in India has (as per them). The API is limited though - web based sending (by calling a URL), and receiving through e-mail. Maybe they can create something specific for you if you have the required volumes.
