I recently wrote letter to Lobsang Monlam — Creator of the Unicode Tibetan
Bod-Yig font which only works on Windows and Mac. following is the copy:

Dear Kusho Lobsang Monlam la,

First of all I would like to congratulate for your success of Monlam Bodyig
font 3.0 ver. I really admire your notion behind that project, as I learned
from your website that your project is specially to protect our distinct
culture "Tibetan Script" in this digital world. You have developed the
Tibetan Unicode font to work on Windows and Mac but Monlam la I would like
to inform you that due to existence of Tibetan font only on Windows and Mac,
our people only depend on these OS. Being myself a Tibean Geeks I mostly
recommend our people to use Linux OS, I hope you might aware of recent news
on China cyber attacks on Many of His Holiness Dalai Lama office in various
country and also in CTA. Windows is so easy for Hacker to attack that's why
I always suggest people to use Linux once they adopt then they will see the
difference between Windows and Linux, having a better advantages over
Windows, also it is free and software are also available free of cost. Our
Kalon Tripa recent comment on News said it is so expensive for the CTA to
maintain digital security...but I should tell our Prime Minister that
there's beautiful called "Linux" which has high security and also free.

So monlam la this is my small request to you that if you can make your font
works on Linux then I certainly believe that our people might think of using
Linux...

do you think it is difficult task or your never tried it before?

Hope you consider on my request.

Regards,

Tashi Samphel
