Good debate for an opensolaris newbie to get some perspective on the comparison. >From the comment thread: OpenSolaris is for the big iron, Linux is not that stable (and thus fine for desktops / small loads).. is that really true? .. the reasoning provided in the thread sounds quite justified, but perhaps its subjective. It's quite a debatable topic, as linux is known to run huge loads too. Maybe things have changed now with linux? Is it contextual?
