What do you mean by an open-source option here? There is certainly open-source software to send/receive SMS. kannel, as recommended by Abhishek is a good option. It is pretty straightforward to set up, and people on this list can help you with any difficulties that you have. However, unless you Do you instead mean free SMS sending?
