Dear List Members,

We are using RHEL 6.1 for our intranet applications. We are having a
two-node cluster for this. In the server apart from the regular system user
accounts, we are having around 20 user accounts that are created to give the
project leaders access to their specific folders for hosting/maintaining the
applications. At the moment we are using /etc/passwd, /etc/group and
/etc/shadow for the management of the user accounts. But we are having
issues in maintaining the synchronization between the two nodes. If one user
changes the password at the active node they need to do the same operation
in the other node of the cluster to ensure smooth operation in case the
service, for some reason, has shifted from one node to the other. How do we
address this issue? Is it possible to setup things in a way so that the
users are authenticated from a MySQL database? Any clue please? How we can
configure the NSS and associated PAM modules to achieve this functionality?
Kindly help.

With regards,

Goutam
