Hi, I got my P4 with 845 chipset working with PCQLinux 7.1 run X with a driver change to "vesa". Thanks to ilugd.
Now I am having to run xdm explicitly to start X. For that I have to log in as root on the system. If any other account is used, it politely tells me "Only root wants to run xdm". I want the system to boot up in graphics mode, and accept the root (or otherwise) login in graphics mode only. How do I go about it? Also on logging out of X, the screen remains blank and does not return to the text mode prompt. How do I mend it?
