hi, been digging thru the internet dirt all day long and at last found something valuable for our school font/type project:
pfaedit on the sourceforge website. this is inspired by fontographer. seems like a great tool with which to design fonts. it is free. and best of all, using cygwin from www.cygwin.com, it even runs under winxx, so the gnulinux-challenged could use it under their OS until they feel comfortable enough to go the whole hog. have just finished downloading the gnulinux version, and gonna test it. meanwhile, kaushal+raj+prateek+tiksit+dhruv+vipul, whaddya think of this stuff: OpenCourse 0.12 beta http://freshmeat.net/releases/97898/ OpenCourse is a Web-based online course content management system. Use it to put your courses, classes, and training materials online. It can also serve as the foundation for an organizational portal based around education and training. It uses any PEAR-compliant database engine (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MS-SQL, Oracle, Interbase, etc.) and can connect to external login and data sources (including LDAP). ?
