Hi all,
I just started off on linux mail clients, though i have been on linux for
quite a while now, but checking pop mail in linux is my new endeavour. I
configured pine and was able to view the messages the on the server as i
wanted them to. (i mainly access my pop3 mailbox from home and i'd rather
leave the messages on the server and go back the next day to office and
download them using my bindows box). Now i am able to view the messages
alrite but i have to stop and start pine to check for new messages. When
ever i get a new message it doesn;t automatically pop up saying i have new
mail. I think pine only checks for mail at login time, is there a way to
make it check for mail after every 5 mins or something. Or shud i use some
other mail agent like elm or may b mutt. The reason i dunt want to use
sendmail is cos i dunt want to remove the mails from the server. If anyone
has a better option please shoot, i dunt want to use bindows at home :)
thanx
~virdi
PS i have seen at time at one of my friends offices, they get a message in
the shell in which they are working saying "new mail". How do i achieve that
:)
