I strongly feel, system programming is more of a micro-processor lang. than
a programming lang.
If u 've closely gone thru Linux src code, it contains many KLOC of intel
instructions.
if u r comfortable enough in 8085 & 8086 than probably u r not far from
mastering it.

I guess, others can also flash more on this.

i am interested in system programming . Can u guide me in this concern. I
have studied the code to crontab for a deep look for system programming. But
in case i have to make this as a career then how can i proceed ahead.
