do a google search on cygwin, that 'gives you unix under windows'...!
'tis free. and quite interesting.
an alternative sort of approach: you can also run virtual network computing
(vnc) so you can remotely log into a *nix machine from any machine running
any platform. thus, you'll be able to "get" a *nix into your win as well....
