Boot into Rescue mode. at least in RedHat, your system
is mounted in a particular directory <dir> and you
have to give the command `chroot <dir>` to make that
your root. Then, you can do whatever you want to set
your system, which I believe is add any relevant
entry to /etc/lilo.conf (often the line --> lba ) and
just run LILO on the command line which installs it.
