Hi everyone, I just installed SUSE Linux 10.0 from the DVD which came with the November issue of LINUX For You magazine. I am facing a problem connecting to the internet. I configured the network connection (static IP) correctly during setup, but the network icon on the panel always shows the status as Disconnected. I tried manually disconnecting and reconnecting the LAN cable from the network card, but the connection stays on only for about 2-3 minutes, and then it shows disconnected again. I am able to browse for the few minutes it stays connected, but it is frustrating to re-insert the cable every few minutes.
Can anyone tell me what is wrong? What should I do to keep the connection stable? Also, how can I make xine and other players play mp3s and videos in SUSE?
