 Depends on where you have your users and what kind of hosting you have
 Typical plaxo or cpanel shop? Stick to their solution, unless you are
 separating mail into its own cluster


I am not much an postfix expert , but from my point of view,   

I am not much fond of cpanels not worked much. 

But with regard to user's , i would have postfix server  (or multiple postfix 
server if cluster suite 
is used, if so then we need a shared storage, so a SAN with GFS file system 
having my /var/spool/postfix, /var/spool/mail  on my shared storage and  
Directory server for users (FDS) for that matter.
