A whole lot of power pop stuff would be the answer.
Most recent discovery is the marvelous record put out by Lancaster PA's
Cherry Twister. This one keeps sneaking back into the player.
Finally got The Move's hard to find box set and am addicted to the first
CD. Fire Brigade, Lemon Tree, Walk Upon the Water, Disturbance . . .
Great pop stuff! Anybody who covers Love is ok by me . . .
The Vandalias CDs are never far from my CD player.
And the Zombies box set has been the CD of the past 2 days, while Sandy
Denny's "Sandy" LP has been spinning in vinyl land. What a voice, what a
voice . . .
And I'm REALLY digging a bunch of the MP3s from the last Music This Hour,
especially: Bettie Serveert, Cocteau Twins, David Mead (this one's
really great), Lloyd Cole, Porcupine Tree, Silver Scooter and Velour 100.
(Thanks to Lindsay for introducing me to some great new stuff!!!) As
you can see, mostly poppy stuff, and that is where my head is at these
days.
