News from Badman Recording Co:

The Innocence Mission Befriended

Begun as four friends who met during a Catholic high school production of the musical "Godspell", The Innocence Mission have released five critically acclaimed albums since their inception. Central to the group's sound is the inspired musical (and literal) marriage of guitarist Don Peris and his wife, vocalist/pianist Karen Peris. Arguably their best work to date, their new album, Befriended, is a haunting collection of 10 songs that features the interplay of Don's gorgeously warm and shimmering electric guitars with Karen's transcendently lovely vocals and moving lyrics. On Befriended, the influences of folk-legends like Simon and Garfunkel and Fairport Convention are evident, yet The Innocence Mission carve out a sound, at once melancholic and joyful, that is all their own. Available now online at http://www.badmanrecordingco.com/ or in stores in early September.

The Innocence Mission will be appearing live at Fez in NYC on August 12 and a new tour is being planned for Fall 2003.
