Emily!!!! I'm so glad you finally got yours! That's great! I enjoyed reading your impressions! So far, "I Never Knew You From the Sun" is my absolute favorite. It just is so beautiful and sad. It evokes perfectly how I feel about my sister. "Sweep Down Early" is the one I catch myself singing as I drive around town on my scooter. I hope no one can hear me through my helmet!

I've listened to it several times now, and with each spin it gets better and better! I have to say, each cd they've put out has a unique sound. There is a basic underlying innocence mission sound, but I can't say they've sounded truly alike...I like this. Tomorrow On The Runway is absolutely beautiful and made me cry the first several times I heard it on the website. I think this is the closest song on the recording to the sound of Glow, which I tend to think is the ultimate Innocence mission sound (although Umbrella and Birds are just as great!) When Mac Was Swimming (and don't take this too seriously) made me laugh! I don't know what it is...it just sounds so 1960's, Breakfast At Tiffany's. I kind of didn't like the direction they took in that one at first, but upon further listening, I find it kind of catchy and it makes me smile! I Never Knew You From The Sun is just absolutely beautiful...the floating piano, beautifully golden, yet eeiry...better said, haunting. I love her voice on this track...it seems to have a vulnerability to it so characteristic of her, yet eminates a maturity that seems often lost to her naturally high vocals (that usually lend to her innocent, sweet sound). Beautiful Change is another Glow-like song...beautiful and uplifting. Martha Avenue Love Song is nice... kind of dreamy. It sounds like they experimented a lot with this one. I like it. It reminds me of driving down a tree lined street and looking up at the tops of the overhanging trees, seeing the sun glimmering through the green sweep of leaves. One For Sorrow, Two For Joy is one of my favorites. This one made me cry...it reminds me of my brother, whom I'm very close to. I only see him on holiday so when we are together there is always that sadness and joy. When he's gone I think of him often. This song makes me want to sing out loud. No Storms Come...beautiful, although it mixes up the movement of the album, it somehow doesn't go with the rest of the songs. This may be a good thing...dunno...but I like it! Sweep Down Early is sweet. Walking Around...sounds a little like Umbrella cd, "I've had enough of this trouble" (Karen mixing it up there!) with a little of the "new" 1960's sound! heh. Wierd! Look For Me As You Go By gives my shins goosebumps! My goodness do I love this song! I recommend listening to it loud if you haven't already. WOW! I think Don did a great job recording and mixing this album. I like hearing the experimentation. It sounds thin in some places and fat in others, all lending to the full experience. Sometimes in now-a-day recordings the big shot mixers make everything full and fat...radio friendly. When they lose the dynamics, they lose my attention. I think Don did an excellent job in keeping mine. Karen has written with her inner being and insightfullness that always keeps me listening and ever always intrigued. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Add photos to your messages with MSN 8.
