Fez is a great, intimate space, but of course that also means that space is limited. I got there when the doors opened (an hour before) and managed to get a good seat at a side booth with some friends. But in the half hour before the show, a lot of people were showing up and there weren't enough seats, so the line may form early this time around. I'd recommend showing up a half hour to an hour before doors open just to be safe. If no one's there, just walk around, grab dinner or something, and check back periodically. It's a cool area, right down there in the village, so you may as well play it safe and show up early. If you're meeting friends, make sure you're all there at once because they're not too keen on reserving empty seats for people.
In terms of where to sit, there are places off to the side where your view might be a bit obstructed, but overall every seat's good. My view of Don was a little blocked at times, but let's be honest, as huge a fan as I am of Don's playing, it's virtually impossible to divert one's attention from Karen's beaming radiant presence anyway. Hope that helps! I'm guessing Denison Witmer will open. I posted this to the yahoo list when the last Fez show was announced. Edits in [ ]'s: - -------------------------- I've been to Fez a couple of times, once to see Mark Kozelek, and once for the innocence mission. [Actually, now it's twice for tim.] It's a strange little place, bigger I think than the Tin Angel, but not too much bigger. It's a different shape -- wider than it is deep -- with a bar along one side, I think. (It was dark!) [But I was right!] It's downstairs below a cool cafe with an eclectic menu. The line forms upstairs inside the cafe. And every 10 minutes or so during the show, you can hear a subway train loudly rumbling either right below or right next to the place. [It's actually much less often.] Two drink minimum. The appetizers were yummy. [Funky pizzas and some kind of salmon roll appetizer recommended.] The show will likely sell out.
