Emily! you are hysterical! I will be at the Thanksgiving show in
Philadephipa and I can't wait! it will be my first time, ever!! a friend
of mine is good friends with Don and Karen and so I am hoping to get some
sort of special treatment. My brother actually had a chance to record
with them recently--which is just another reason for me to get to meet
these idols of mine. :) I am glad that you had a good time. November is
too far away!

[EMAIL PROTECTED] Precedence: bulk Return-Path: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Hi! I
just got home from Pittsburgh today. Just would like to say what a
magical time I had. Everything from the beautiful drive across
Pennsylvania, to finding a hotel room that had a double rainbow just
outside its window to greet us, to the fine pint of guinness and
spinach/artichoke dip (gee that was good!), to the very friendly IM fans
(who clued me into an open table in the seemingly crowded room and helped
to scrounge up an extra chair....thanks if you're out there reading), to
the performance...beautiful as always despite the smokey room and the
late hour at which I think they rarely perform (due to the little ones),
to the nightcap conversation I had with Karen and Don, two genuinely good
people. It was an all over good time! Made me smile, made me cry (just
can't help it when she sings Never Knew You From The Sun) and reminded me
to take a moment out of the daily stresses of life to find some
peace...to make room for a good night out. I just loved being able to
have such fun over a two day weekend...to be able to fit so many good
memories into such a short amount of time, and return back to the work
week as usual. To know it can be done without needing to take days off!
(can you tell I'm giddy...sorry! It's a new revelation!)Oh, no songs off
of IM or Umbrella this time, but a few from Glow (Keeping Awake, Bright
As Yellow and Brave). What I like about seeing them live (among other
things) is that you can make out some of the ramblings she attaches to
songs that aren't on the liner notes but are in the songs...especially
like in Keeping Awake and Lakes of Canada and I'm so excited to hear them
because it's like hearing another aspect of the song...a bonus of
sorts...but then the bummer is, I leave for the night and I've already
forgotten them. I guess that's alright though, maybe they were meant to
be fleeting. She played a bunch from Birds and Befriended. No piano this
time. I was surprised to hear so many people asking for Happy, The
End...a song I always think is overlooked and happens to be my favorite.
But alas, she couldn't play it without a piano and said it would miss
something without Steve on the drums. The opening band was kind of funky
with a girl playing a fine slide guitar. She had a very nice voice. It
was one of those bands though that had a repetitive sound...no change in
tempo, however it was nice to close your eyes to and listen. There was
something about the lonliness in the slide guitar and the shimmering
sound that came from it that took me to a far off place. Okay I think I
gave a penny too much of my two cents! I look forward to the fez show
coming up, hope to see some of you there! I always look around the room
wondering who some of you are...if any of you are on the list and which
ones you would be. Had the urge to step up onto the stage and announce in
the microphone that I am Emily Druchunas and if anyone is here from the
IM list would you please raise your hand! I'm easy to spot...the girl
with the dumb smile plastered on her face the entire show. If you see me,
come up and say hi! Take care all! ~Emily
