Hello gang-I'm new to this group. I've been listening to IM since I saw one of the
times "Bright as Yellow" played on MTV back in 1996 (which I now know via the FAQ was
only one of two times it was played! Lucky me!) but it only recently occurred to me
that while I had been checking into their website for the past few years, there might
be an associated "group"! So, I'm very happy to be here.
I'm also happy that I will be able to see the IM for the first time at the Chameleon
Nov 1st (though, like many others, I'm making my plans without having a ticket yet!).
I've wanted to visit the Lancaster area at autumn for awhile, and with the IM playing
there 11/1, it seemed like too good an opportunity (even though I am giving up being
able to see Simon and Garfunkel here in Seattle that night. Actually, it kind of
makes me laugh, because I have a feeling that, since they seem to be S&G fans, Karen
or Don might be amazed someone would miss S&G to see them!) So, I have taken the
plunge and bought my plane ticket, lined up a hotel, etc.- I am ecstatic.
"Befriended" has increasingly worked its way into my psyche as much as much of the
rest of the IM music has. It absolutely blows my mind that I'll be sitting in a dark
club and will most likely hear Karen sing "One for Sorrow, Two for Joy" live!
Anyway, I will be happily reading old digests and look forward to contributing!
