Hi! I'm here! I'm here! (to Liz!) I've been ending up a student teaching
job and starting a new one....been tied up. Also...went to the pumpkin
festival this past weekend in keene nh and they beat the running record
of 21,000 something pumpkins...this year the townspeople brought in a
whopping 28,952 pumpkins!!!!! five of which were my groups including 2 of
my very own...so proud, so proud! i couldn't beleive the amount of
pumpkins...up on scafoldings, lining the streets, it was really like
nothing i had ever seen before. if anyone is interested i think there are
pictures of it on keene nh website. so anyway...
I had a particularly good time at this fez show....I saw so many friendly
faces around (Liz in particular....hi liz!) and some familiar faces I've
seen before. going to an innocence mission concert is so much more than
just a night of music. it's a gathering of friends and the more and more
shows i go to and people i talk to on this list..the more exciting those
nights out are. so thanks everyone.
the set list was pretty much just what that other fella (andy is it?)
posted just in another order. i was lucky enough to be sitting next to a
kind fella that made a super recording of the show. he sent it to me and
if i get his permission i will post it up on this list. there was
something about a mass sending of it that i'm not too sure he was keen
on...so, i'll keep you posted. it was a great show and a great recording
so i hope i can pass it along to all of you.
my favorites of the night....happy, the end, look for me as you go by,
never knew you from the sun, every hour here, oh harry....as well as
every other song they played!
we were rushed out of there and for those of you that came a long way,
i'm sure that was excruciating...especially considering that we were
leaving so that a burlesque (sp?) show could come on! people were saying
to karen..."run karen, run!" so as not to see her faint! what a strange
following show though...even the waiters and waitresses seemed a little
embarrassed for the innocence mission crowd!
spent the day in central park (there are some strangely peculair and
exciting things that happen in central park) it was an unusually
beautiful day and a wonderful night.
Liz, you were lovely yourself...what a genuinely kind individual you are.
It was so good to meet you...offstage! I hope you stole a few moments to
speak to the band...as i'm sure they would have wanted some time with
you.
i'm looking forward to the christmas concert as i'm sure the rest of you
are. how nice it would be to have her sing O Little Town Of
Bethlehem....she sang it so nicely on the rare track...i seem to listen
to it year round. for the time being i'm enjoying the rainy autumn
days...welcome the cold, grey november skies and the smell of wood stoves
and rotting leaves. time to pull out BOMN, nick drake and greg browns
"further in" cd.
yikes, this is long! sorry folks! hope all is well in your pockets of the
world. ~emily
