Responding to some points discussed about the Fez tape:
Re the band may not like that some uneven versions of some songs are out there: I'm
sure that Brian Wilson might not be crazy about there being some material out there
that he didn't deem finished, either, but such is life, and it didn't stop Mike from
acquiring some Beach Boys. And I doubt he sent Brian Wilson any additional money
either. I'm not saying he should. I'm not "responding" to a complaint from the
band- this is conjecture on the part of some of the people here. They probably
wouldn't want anyone to present this material to someone as the "definitive" IM, but I
doubt anyone intends to. We have their studio CDs for that. If they release a live
CD themselves, then I imagine we'll all get that, won't we?
Regarding giving them food baskets or making donations to their favorite charities
because of the Fez tape: how about this idea- if you feel like you want to kick
something back to the band, buy more copies of "Befriended" and give them to friends.
Playing music live is in part a means of self-promotion- so promote the band to
people that don't know their music and let them rack up some more CD sales.
