 > Rehoboth Beach native and self-described melodic rocker Cliff Hillis
will perform songs from his new album, "Better Living Through
Compression," at Ruddertowne in Dewey Beach on Friday, April 23....
Hillis lured The Innocence Mission's Mike Bitts on bass and Steve Brown
on drums, and former Caulfields band member Ritchie Rubini into the
recording sessions.

 > If I'm not mistaken, Cliff Hillis used to be the innocence mission's
guitar tech years ago.

Yes, indeed. He's one of my best friends. He also "stood in" for Mike
during the Glow Tour, assuming bass duties while Mike took maternity
leave that year (Cliff learned ALL the songs they'd be playing that tour
in just under a couple of weeks. Talk about cramming, I witnessed it
first hand, my man WORKED for that opportunity and by all accounts he
did a fine job).

We had a little reunion of sorts at the Tin Angel show a couple months
back. Ex IM sound man Martin Lemaire, Cliff and his wife Beth and I all
had dinner together pre-show downstairs at Salero. The post-show get
together with the band was great fun, as we'd not all been together
since Glow Tour days. Seeing Mike that night, Cliff had the idea to ask
him if he and Steve would sit in on a tune from his new album. Cliff was
thrilled when they expressed great interest.

I really believe that folks from this list would love Cliff's new
record. It's available via his label, Not Lame Records at
<http://www.notlame.com>www.notlame.com. Look under new releases or type
his name in the search
box. Twelve bucks plus shipping includes a bonus cd-r if you hurry!
There are also several downloadable tracks from the record at
<http://www.tallboyrecords.com>www.tallboyrecords.com, so you can check out
a few tunes before parting
with your cash.

Okay, shameless plug for my frie
