See if you can find the lengthy and very interesting post from Jim Boggia.

Jim, who used to participate on this listserv, was supposed to be the
opening act that night (and as I recall, the upright bass that Mike Bitts
played for the brief sidewalk set was borrowed from Jim's bass player).  Jim
has since gone on to make a name for himself in indie guitar-pop circles -
talented guy.  He's doing a gig in my home town next month - it'll be the
first time I've seen him since the TLA make-up gig (they did reschedule the
gig).

My memory is that it was a brutally hot and humid summer day in '95.  Parts
of South St had lost power, and without air conditioning, any attempt at
putting on the gig would have been rough going for all involved.  Everyone
was surprised and delighted by the brief sidewalk set, which was either 3
songs or 5 -- can't recall.
