Fujitsu <http://www.fcpa.com> is offering the 40.9 GB EIDE 5400 rpm
3.5 LP (P/N CA05761-B9050000A) for $112.00 US which seems like an
amazing price. The only specs I'm finding on it follows:
High performance Ultra ATA/100 interface. Data transfer rates up to
49.9 MB/sec to/from media. Interface transfer rate 100 MB/sec.
I vaguely remember reading 'somewhere' that the preferred speed for
the iMac 350MHz is the 5400 rpm to cut down on heat issues, and if
I'm also remembering correctly, the height needed is 3.5.
Does anyone have any thoughts on this particular drive or any hard
drive update in general? I never thought I'd ever think that 6 GB was
a small drive but I am sinking quickly into the techno ooze :-(
