I am running OS X on a 500 mhz G3 iMac with only 256 mb RAM and it runs 
very well.   I have had several programs open at once with no problems.  
It takes 4-8 seconds to open each program which is hardly slow.  I don't 
think you should have a problem.

Of course, the more ram you can add, the better.  I was getting a few 
freezes on 128 mb ram, when I ran OS X initially but it was still not 
too slow.  Once I went up to 256 mb, things were fine.
