I too have a 333 iMac with OS 8.6 but with 512Mb Ram. It almost never freezes but I don't use AOL. IE 5.0 freezes once a week or so, but that doesn't seem terribly often for a browser.
Perhaps you could define "many freezes." How often is that? Matthew D. I have not installed other software yet except AOL 5 to avoid or trace any conflicts. I am still getting the freezes...the finder quitting and AOL quitting, etc. I want to get this resolved before installing X. Any tips?
