Is it true that if you hold the imac battery between your thumb and
forefinger with each finger on the + or - pole, it will kill the battery.

I have held many AA batteries that way and there was no problem, and some
even use this method to test whether the battery is good or not.

I bought a battery, it was tested at the mac dealer here in Aruba and it
registered 3.6.

When I picked it up, he grabbed it out of my hand and said I shouldn't hold
it that way.  When I got home the battery was dead, even though it tested
3.6 after I held it that way at the store.

Naturally he told me there are no refunds.  It cost US$25 to buy here in
Aruba.
