But I've already tried that.

Something tells me this is what the tech found, too.

Well, I am going to buy some Verbatim CD-R's today, I'll let you all know
how that works.

If anyone has any other suggestions, let me know (before I call applecare
again. I only have one phone line so I don't want to sit here all day making
multiple phone calls while I uninstall and reinstall certain things.)

Sheesh!

What brand and model of burner are you using.... perhaps I missed it but I
know I've got a Philips CDD2000 on my 72/7300 and I read up about it on the
web.... found that a class action lawsuit had been filed over that particular
model... this was all part of the troubleshooting procedure..... then I
switched to memorex cd's instead of Staples ones and the problem went away
:) though I have found out all kinds of things to do including replacing a
spring whenever it actually goes bad ;D.

the short of it.... media counts.... especially if yer burner isn't the
newest and greatest....

Hamlet

now officially of the OS X generation..... and liking it....
