This is easy to do in OSX.  Just open a terminal window and continue 
with step 2 above.

In OS 9 you have to tell your telnet client what port to use.  You 
should tell it to use port 6346, like in step 2.  It's probably an 
option somewhere in the preferences.  The 'usual' telnet port is 23. 
You'll need to change that for one session.
