Hi,
I have an IMac400 w/CD-ROM, which shuts itself down occasionally,
especially during lots of drive or CD-ROM access. Adding an external
fan extended the period between shutdowns, so I'm suspecting an
overheating power supply.
This unit does not seem to have a fan, can anyone confirm that for me?
And, since I need to get into it to check the power supply, can
someone please direct me to information on opening the UPPER half of
the case? I know how to get the bottom case off, for memory & hard
drive upgrades, but that does not give me access to the power supply.
And third, if the problem turns out to be a bad power supply
(although perhaps it is an overheating hard drive), can someone
please direct me to a supplier for an IMac power supply?
TIA!
