I should clarify that YES I did buy one year subscription to .Mac and YES I did register it at Apple... and YES I did take advantage of the $49 offer... and YES I did NOT select the auto-rollover ...
Why did I not auto-rollover?... has anyone seen this... http://www.apple.com/macosx/uptodate/ I bought my OSX 10.1.3 package for my low-end iMac Rev.D in June... one bloody month too early! I want to upgrade that package to OSX 10.2 for $20. Apple should have realized that people who were dumb enough to go out and buy 10.1 even after the early summer announcement of the 10.2 release scheduled for late fall, expected an upgrade path would be made available to them and that Apple would not abandon their long held customers. I am hurt. I feel abandoned. I spent $300 on Mac OSX licenses for one machine. I could have used that $150 for two 256MB SODIMMs (and other goodies) for my memory starved Rev.D (my Strawberry iMac is seething red). Where is the justice? > It was strange. I first noticed it in Mail. Then checked System > Preferences / Internet / .Mac and sure enough, name and password fields > were blank. Did anyone else experience this? > > I had installed a couple of apps so do not know for sure if those were > the culprit or ... something else (flaw?). > > Anyways, it has been awfully quiet on the iMac List lately... > > -LD -- The iMac List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
